About me
Charles Young is a game artist and animator. From a young age, he had decided he wanted to pursue in video game development, eventually learning how to program in originally in Game Maker 7.0 and made games using that program and its later versions. In his senior and junior years in high school he attended the Advanced Technology Center under the Game and Software Programming I and II programs, where he learned C# and Java.
During his time at the Advanced Technology Center, he developed a game as part of a team in RPG Maker VX Ace called White Collar for the FBLA. White Collar had won both the FBLA regional and state competitions, and had allowed his team entrance into nationals. Following the end of that game’s development, he functioned as the full game artist and programmer for a STEM game jam entrant known as Infinite Door working with the same team.
After graduating high school and obtaining his certificate of completion from the Advanced Technology Center, Charles attended the Art Institute of Virginia Beach for his BFA in Media Arts and Animation. While there, he studied and learned Maya, Adobe Flash/Animate CC, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Toon Boom Harmony, Toon Boom Storyboard Pro and on his own picked up and learned Unity.
